The drawers feature substantial period construction with dovetail joinery visible along the sides. Decades of natural wear, color variation and patina give the piece tremendous character that would be difficult to reproduce artificially. Joseph Peters was a prominent St. Louis cabinetmaker and furniture manufacturer whose company produced quality bedroom and case furniture in St. Louis.
